Take US-183 south to SH71 east towards Bastrop.
Follow SH-71 east (going past the airport) for 12 miles
Turn right on South Pope Bend Road (by traffic light) and follow the signs for 3 miles. 
The final roads to the zoo are South Pope Bend, McDonald Lane, and Jenkins Road.

From South Austin
Follow SH-71 east (going past the airport) for 12 miles
Turn right on South Pope Bend Road (by traffic light) and follow the signs for 3 miles.

From Bastrop
Take SH-71 west, exit SH-21 (to San Marcos)
Turn left on SH-21 
Go 3 miles and turn right on McDonald Lane 
Follow to Jenkins Rd. Turn left. Then turn right into the zoo drive.

From San Marcos
Take SH-21 North
Turn left on McDonald Lane
Follow to Jenkins Rd. Turn left. Then turn right into the zoo drive.

From Lockhart
Take US-183 North. Turn right on SH21, go 14.5 miles, then turn left on McDonald Lane.
Follow the zoo signs 3 miles.
